The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services recommends that at mealtime we fill half of our plates with fruits and vegetables, as depicted in the MyPlate guide ChooseMyPlate.gov. Fruits and vegetables are a great source of nutrients such as calcium, fiber, folate, iron, magnesium, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C to name a few. And nutrients may play a role in reducing the risk of certain diseases!
In furthering our mission to provide health and safety education to children, teens and adults, MORE HEALTH offers the following nutrition lessons in the Tampa Bay area: Fueled For Success, Fit For Life, and Eat Healthy, Be Active.
